Background

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Sociology, as well as several years of teaching experience. Part of my undergraduate experience included a year living and studying in Ecuador. I attended university classes in the city of Quito and lived with a family who did not speak English. This provided me with an invaluable opportunity to learn Spanish at deeper level, and I will be forever grateful for this life-altering experience!

After college, I worked in a variety of social service settings, serving a wide variety of clientele.  My Spanish skills were an invaluable asset to me in this industry, as they made me more marketable and increased my earning potential.

Before I became a tutor, I taught English as a Second Language for three years. This included a mixture of Spanish-speaking adults and high school students. My students came with a variety of education levels and language skills, however they all saw significant improvement in their learning goals because of my individualized approach to teaching. I am patient and perceptive to the needs and learning style of each student. My students were all successful in their learning goals, and I recognize that everyone does not learn the same way.
